意识所必需的最小复杂度

《Calculating Animal Intelligence》一文提出了一个问题：

Is there a minimal complexity required for the phenomena of self-awareness and consciousness?

文中提到了一个复杂度的定义：

John's formula is simple: C (complexity) = logN * (1 + 2logZ) where N is the number of units and Z is the average number of interactions.

若意识是自然形成的，类似的临界值应该存在，而且其值也会存在一个直观的解释。
